Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information Weather Rooms handles, why it is used, and the role of external services.

1. Operator and approach
Weather Rooms is operated by Reed Craft. This policy applies to information handled in connection with Weather Rooms. We handle the information needed to provide and operate the service securely.
2. City and weather information
On initial load, city selection, and forecast refresh, the city’s coordinates and time zone are sent to the Weather Rooms weather server. The server rounds latitude and longitude to 0.1 degrees before requesting forecast data from MET Norway. Forecasts for the same region are reused through a shared cache.
A selected city does not indicate where you are actually located. The current service does not obtain your device’s GPS location or use browser geolocation. Forecast requests are sent through our server; your IP address and browser information are not forwarded to MET Norway.
3. Settings, cookies, and analytics
Selections such as city, scene, and panel auto-hide are kept in the browser while the page is open. These settings are not saved in cookies or local storage and reset when the page is reloaded. Your display language is reflected in the URL, so reopening that URL shows the same language.
On the production clock page, Google Analytics 4 loads only if you enable “Help improve Weather Rooms” in Settings. It is off by default. The tag does not load before consent or when Global Privacy Control (GPC) is enabled. We do not use advertising tags.
With consent, we send Google the page language, scene, live or preview mode, page views, 30 seconds of continuous clock display, interactions, and forecast request outcomes. We do not send the selected city, coordinates, URL query, contact message, or email address to analytics. Page URLs are reduced to the language’s entry URL and referrers to their origin. Google processes IP addresses and device or browser information during communication, so the connection is not completely anonymous.
Your consent choice is stored locally for up to 180 days. With consent, Google Analytics uses identification cookies whose names begin with weather_rooms, for up to 90 days. Turning the setting off stops further collection and deletes this service’s analytics cookies. It does not retract data already sent.
4. Information processed by the hosting provider
The published service uses Cloudflare for hosting. When you access pages or the API, information such as your IP address, access time, requested resource, browser, and connection details may be processed for delivery, troubleshooting, and protection against unauthorized access.
The hosting provider handles and stores information under Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and service terms. External services may process information outside Japan.
5. Contact and information management
Contact is handled by a dedicated Weather Rooms form hosted by Tally. Following the link opens Tally, where your email and message are submitted. Submissions are stored by Tally and used for operator notifications and replies. Saving unfinished answers and automatic respondent emails are disabled. Submissions are used for Weather Rooms inquiries and kept separate from other services’ contact forms.
Information is used as needed to provide the clock, scenes, and forecasts, maintain security, resolve problems, and respond to inquiries about Weather Rooms.
If the operator holds personal information, we take steps such as managing access permissions, retaining it only as needed for its purpose, and appropriately deleting information that is no longer needed.
We do not provide personal information to third parties except for processing necessary to provide the service as described here, with your consent, as required by law, or on another lawful basis. We do not sell personal information or use it to promote other services.
6. Your requests and policy changes
If you request access to, correction of, suspension of use of, or deletion of personal information the operator holds about you, we will respond in accordance with applicable law after carrying out necessary verification.
When information handling changes, this page and its updated date will be revised. For changes that significantly affect users, we will provide advance notice or obtain consent when appropriate.
